Let's think about Sequencing...
What is Sequencing?
Why is it important we Sequence?
What activity did you do recently in which you had to use Sequencing?
Take at look at this...

After reading this article, I want you to Sequence the events in order. You may not want to Sequence every event, probably only the main events. Talk about the tragedy turned "miracle" from beginning to end. As a time saver you do not need to include every Chilean rescued.
Quality over Quantity.
So i couldnt find the misleading graph thing where i can link it so im going to just put it here :) http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.k12science.org/ciesemath/misleading1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://misleadinggraphs.cybermediasystem.net/misleadinggraphs/&h=287&w=523&sz=28&tbnid=-463b6crE_T5PM:&tbnh=72&tbnw=131&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmisleading%2BGraphs&zoom=1&q=misleading+Graphs&usg=__Yyg0HyHR-9PEMkBz7DRj_v--Rzs=&sa=X&ei=dau3TK2fDtHUngeioJSLCQ&ved=0CB4Q9QEwAg

Engineers expected majority of the men would be safely on the surface by thurday day morning. The first man to be pulled out was quite healthy and in good shape. The next 10 to be pulled where good but they where involved with some who had health problems (hypertension, diabetes and skin ulcers) The youngest minner was 19 years old and the oldest minner was 63 years old. The oldest minner was seen breathing from an oxygen mask
End
Most of the minners where in good condition. Most people estimated the rescue would take 4 months
whell first all the miners where doing thier stuff and mining and then it coulapsed and they where traped in the mine for 18 days before every noticed that they where not dead, and that they had used a suply of food that was suposed to last them for 2 days and they made it last for 17 until they got found and food got sent down to them. Then they created this big steel tube to stand in it was 54-cm-wide and 4-meter-high custom-made by the Chilean Navy that carried them up to the to the ground level through a 624-meter shaft.
ReplyDeleteand then almost half of them where saved
ReplyDeleteThe drama began one August 5 with the collapse of a mine shaft in northern Chile. It took 17 days before rescue teams were able to establish that the miners were still alive, trapped some 600 meters below the ground. They had survived, but had food that could last them only two more days.So the rescue team made a tube That Brought them up to the ground level.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, the miners had been working in the mine on August the 5th 2010. It had suddenly collapsed and the miners were now trapped. With only a supply of food that would last them to days, they made it work for 17 days!! They had been miraculously found on August the 22nd. Then they had been sent food and supplies, via steel tube. 16 of the 33 miners had been taken out on October the 13th 2010.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have to say "wow"!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that artical saying that a group of miners were trapped under ground for 17 days with a case of food that would last 1 person 2 days, this means out of all that food every one of them would get at least a 16th of food that they could eat per day. They made the food last for 17 days.
They got rescued by a 54-cm-wide and 4-meter-high steel tube shaped like a missile, one at a time. Glad to hear everyone survived.
