Analyze this...
So, by the sounds of it you have a pretty good understanding of questioning and self-monitoring. Remember, asking questions is important in helping us understand things better, so never stop questioning!
Let's try a new strategy, this strategy is called Analyzing.
Think about what Analyzing is and why it is important.
When you Analyze you are looking for details and facts to help you better understand what is happening.
Analyzing is like using clues (facts and details) to solve a mystery (better understand).
Analyzing is evidence.
So let's try it...
Take a look at the article I have linked below.
http://www.thestar.com/specialsections/metowe/article/868412--k-naan-inspires-at-we-day-celebration
Analyze the text. What facts and details are important? What opinion and thoughts do you have based on the facts and details in the article?
Remember we should always be asking, why am I learning this and why is this important?
Quality over Quantity.
Post a response to someone else.

ReplyDeletehaha thanks emma
ReplyDeletethe facts are that this guy sang this song in front of a bunch of youth who all knew every single lyric to the song, then it talks about something called free the children, also he talks about Marc and Craig Kielburger and how K’naan tells the youth that they have the power to solve some of the worlds most important problems.
ReplyDeleteK'naan is very inspiring. The fact that 18,000 youth in Toronto know all of the lyrics to his inspiring song 'Waving Flag', is proof that he is very insperational.
ReplyDeletethe analytical information about K'naan is that he sang "wav'in flag" infront of 18,000 youth of toronto. witch made a very big inseration to all.
ReplyDeleteThe information about k'naan is that he sang his song "waving flag" for 18,000 youth's in toronto.K'naan is very inspiring because he sang to them. Also the songs he writes including waving flag are about the trobles in the world and that was going on in his life when he was younger.
ReplyDeleteThis is about a man named k'naan singing "waving flag to 18,000 youth of toronto and all of those youth know the lyrics to that song!! some of those kids there don't know what poverty is and he's songs travel around the world to tell kids what poverty is!!! he was also talking about Craig Kielburger and Marc!!
ReplyDeletei also agree with ethan, stephanie, nick, and rebecca
Uhm, i dont think its such a big deal that Knann did this because He probably just did it for the money. but i think its a good thing that he did this for 18,000 youth of toronto.
ReplyDeleteI think he inspired these kids with his song wavin flag, and that might be why they know all the lyrics.
K'nann sang to 18,000 kids at the A.C.C., In my opinion he was using his popularity and personality to spread word and inspire kids at the concert.
ReplyDeleteWe day was created by Free the Children, this event is part of a year long program to tell the youth that they have the power to change the world in positive way. And to help inspire them K'naan sang his song "Waving Flag" to 18,000 students.
ReplyDeleteHow do these students know who Deepak Chopra and Cherie Blair are? Personly I don't know who these people are.
K'naan performed his song "Waving Flag" at the We Day gathering at the Air Canada Center also the fact that 18,000 youth in Toronto know all of the lyrics to his inspiring song.
ReplyDeleteAt first i did'int fully understand what analyzing was, but i think i have a better understanding now: During we day at the air Canada center, k'naan sang 'wavin flag' for students to inspire them. basically all 18,000 kids sang along "just like a wavin' flag" and waved their arms along to k'naan's inspiring music.
ReplyDeleteThe important facts are K'naan sang along side 18000 kids his hit single waving waving flag to support we day. We day is an event that tells youth we can change the world in great majorities of ways if we set our minds to is. In my opinion I'm just wondering how is singing a song going to help you change the world for instance the billionaire you can sing the song I wanna be a billionaire but doesn't nessicarlley mean you willbe a billionaire
ReplyDelete"It turns out at least 18,000 youth in Toronto know every single lyric to K’naan’s songWavin’ Flag." The song sounded like it's the power of one "When I get older, I will be stronger. They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag,”
ReplyDeletebecause I think the song/K'naan inspired 18,000 youths to sing, know every single lyric to the song, and have the youths wave their arms side to side, and it was On the Free the children's We day created to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change in the world.
the facts are tha k'naan's song inspired losts or people and that 18,000 youh in Toronto knew every single lyric to his song wavin'flag.the chanting didnt sop untill k'naan took the We Day stage and sang to the students that filed into the Air Canada Centre.
ReplyDeleteFree The Children’s We Day is more than just one day of celebration and inspiration. It’s a one-of-a-kind event and part of an innovative year-long program created to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change in the world
its cool how 18000 kids know the full lyrics to his song he inspired alot of people on the We Day in the air canada center.
ReplyDeletethis article is about knann singing waving flag in front of 1o ooo people that knows all the words!!
ReplyDeletei think that k'naan was an inspiration to all those kids that took the time to memorise the song and then sing all of then at that one event
ReplyDeleteI think that the main points of this article are that K'naan inspired over 18,000 people of youth with his song "Wavin’ Flag", at 8:30am during the "Free The Children’s We Day" Toronto's youth started the chant the lyrics to "Wavin’ Flag" and didn't stop until K'naan took the stage over five hours later, the purpose of this song and day is to show youth that they can make a positive change in the world.
ReplyDeletei think the main idea of the artical are k'naan inspired more than 18,000 people and he got them all to think about all the needy people in the world!!
